Century Builders recently became the first homebuilder in San Angelo to offer a certified EasyLiving home to area homebuyers.
Casey Deering, owner of Century Builders takes pride in offering current trends and practices in the building industry and decided to take it up a notch by offering his homebuyers a home they will be able to live in regardless of whether they are first time buyers, baby boomers or somewhere in between.
“With minimal expense and modification to my house plans their really wasn’t a good reason not to build my homes with visitable features and offer homeowners the benefit of having the homes certified,” Deering said.
The first home to be certified for Century Builders is still under construction. Upon completion, an open house reception is planned for the home located at 4818 Oak Grove Blvd in San Angelo.
EasyLiving Homecm Texas is a voluntary home certification program that has been at the leading edge of the transition in construction practices and thought. The certification program is designed to encourage builders to implement features that make homes attractive, usable, and convenient for everyone. Anyone can say they offer these features, but only an EasyLiving home certifies it. The EasyLiving Homecm Texas design offers standard accessible features such as a step-free entrance, a main-floor bedroom, at least one accessible bathroom with adequate maneuvering space as well as wider doorways and hallways.
The EasyLiving Homecm Texas program is a statewide program funded by the Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities. It is based in Houston at ILRU, a program, of TIRR|Memorial Hermann. Additional information can be found at www.easylivinghometexas.org.
Located in San Angelo and founded in 1997, Century Builders is family owned and operated. For more information about Century Builders, please call 325-949-5386.
